My guiding statement is “Let’s do it!” which originated from
playing games with my kids. Every time, we came across a challenging level in
Super Mario for WII and we had died a million times that phrase seems to escape
one of mouths and encourages us to die a million more times in the game.
If I had a disagreement with my supervisor at work, I would
push through this rough patch and hopefully it would work out. I usually say
this phrase numerous times at work and would hear my coworkers use it on each other
and I see it as a key motivator.
If I received a failing grade from my professor, “let’s do
it” would motivate to beat my grade so I wouldn’t fail the next time around.
Which would definitely make it my priority to do better and to try to get a
successful grade.
If I had a disagreement with my loved one, I think “Let’s do
this” would keep us together and motivate us to work things out. It puts “us”
in perspective and would make us want to work things out.
If I saw someone having a hard time “making it”, I think
“let’s do this” would let him know that he isn’t alone and that he can make it.
I think it provides support that a person in that sort of position would want
and most importantly need.
Rating on my guiding statement, I really think it is a really
good guiding statement especially in all of these scenarios. Hopefully, it will
continue to spread to those who really need it.
